5th Grade DARE Graduation

After several weeks of class lessons with deputy Ford, our 5th grade students celebrated the completion of the D.A.R.E. program with a class party.  Students were asked to write a brief essay, detailing what they learned and how they would apply the principles taught in the lessons to real life situations.  Many students highlighted the importance of resisting peer pressure and the temptation to put harmful substances into one's body.  After listening to the winning essays, students had an ice cream party and were given t-shirts that they could proudly wear.  We appreciate the efforts by the Iron County Sheriff's Department to continue this program within the elementary schools.
